AIRPORTS
The best airport to fly into is John Wayne Airpot in Orange County (SNA). From there, you can take a 30 min Uber to Dana Point or San Juan Capistrano, or pickup a rental car if you desire.
Depending on where you’re coming in from, you can also check out Long Beach Airport (LGB), which is a 45 min drive or LAX, Burbank and San Diego airport, all of which would be more like 60-90 min, depending on traffic.
Best western plus
We’ve reserved a hotel block at the Best Western Plus Marina Shores in Dana Point. This affordable option is a 10 min walk to Doheny State Beach (Friday’s festivities), the Dana Point Harbor and the ceremony in Lantern Bay Park (the latter of which would require walking up a significant hill). Use the link to book online or if calling to reserve, specify group name “Joe & Myra Wedding.” If they tell you the block has been filled please text us before booking and we can likely add more rooms.
Laguna Cliffs Marriott
For a slight upgrade in Dana Point, the Laguna Cliffs Marriott is just up the hill from the Best Western Plus and offers ocean views, in addition to facing the ceremony grounds.
Inn at the mission
For those interested in staying a 5 min walk from the reception and having easy access to all of the cute shopping and restaurants in downtown San Juan Capistrano (or checking out the Mission itself), we recommend the brand new Inn at the Mission. This beautiful hacienda style hotel is also a Marriott for those of you sitting on points.
